I think part of why I wanted to start a blog post on our website is that after more than 23 years, we still get excited about the different types of projects that we get involved in. This order is for a client in the Pasadena area. They have existing fixed louver shutters mounted on the front of their home. They decided to upgrade the existing look with our Board and Batten shutters. The panels are a sizable 24" x 84" each, and they requested over-sized boards (8" wide) to really showcase the size of these panels. Then as a final touch, a custom cut out in the shape of a shield. Even thought they have traditional fixed louvers on the front of the home, our client drew their inspiration from a board and batten shutter (with a shield cut out) mounted on a window on the side of the home. Our client sent in a trace of the cut out, which we in turn used as a starting point for a new properly drawn and sized shield. We made a few different drawings for the customer to pick from. After some feedback, we fine tuned the drawing that they approved, and sent it out for CNC cutting. We made a full size mock up just to make sure that the final look met with their expectations. We take pride in taking the extra step, for indeed it was requested to scale down the final cut out slightly. After final approval, we had the routing completed, and back to our shop for final  assembly.  The panels came out beautiful, and we know this will give the front of this home some incredible curb appeal.
